Quick Answer

Dr Orizi exhibited at Booth 3008 at Cosmobeauté Malaysia & beautyexpo 2026, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, 29 September – 1 October 2026, with sister company D&O Nutraceutical Manufacturing next door at Booth 3009. Across three days the questions repeated themselves: minimum order quantity, how long a launch takes, what a cosmetic may legally claim, and whether a small brand can start at all. This recap sets out what visitors asked and how a cosmetics OEM answers it.

Key Takeaways

  • Most visitors arrived with a product idea, not a specification — the first job at the booth was turning the idea into a brief.
  • MOQ, timeline, notification and halal certification were the four questions behind almost every conversation.
  • Texture sells. Visitors decided what they liked by touching samples long before they discussed price.
  • One visitor left with an RM3,000 startup credit from our “Your Dream, Our Mission” draw, towards a first production run.

Scope of this article

This is a first-hand record of a trade show our team exhibited at, written from the perspective of a cosmetics manufacturer. It describes what we observed at our own booth. It does not report attendance figures or speak for the organiser; their materials are linked below.

What did visitors actually ask?

Four questions carried most of the three days:

The question at the booth What it really means How we answer it
“What is your MOQ?” Can I afford a first run? MOQ depends on format and packaging, not on the brand’s size; a ready formula starts lower than a bespoke one
“How long until I can sell?” Launch date planning Formulation and sampling, stability and testing, notification, then production — each stage has its own clock, and packaging is usually the long pole
“Can I claim whitening / anti-ageing / acne treatment?” Marketing copy A cosmetic notified with the NPRA may care for skin, not treat disease; claims must match the evidence held
“Is it halal certified?” Market access in Malaysia and export Certification sits with the facility and the formulation together — it is designed in from the ingredient list, not added at the end

Most conversations started with a product idea and ended with a timeline.

What was on the table

We brought production formats rather than mock-ups: serums, cleansers, body care, haircare and fragrance, alongside the certification wall — HALAL, GMP, ISO, HACCP, Sedex/SMETA and Buatan Malaysia. Visitors handled textures, compared viscosities and smelled fragrance bases, which settles preferences far faster than a catalogue does.

One startup credit, one new brand

Our “Your Dream, Our Mission” draw closed with an RM3,000 startup credit towards a first production run. Starting a brand is rarely blocked by ambition; it is blocked by the first invoice.

The Dr Orizi perspective: the brief is the product

Based on our manufacturing experience, the projects that run smoothly are the ones where the brief was settled early — format, target user, claim, budget and launch date agreed before the first sample. The projects that stall are usually the ones where a claim was promised to a marketplace before anyone checked whether a cosmetic may legally make it. A show floor is a good place to fix that, because it happens in conversation rather than email.

Limitations

  • Observations are from our own booth over three days; they are not a survey of the exhibition or of the Malaysian market.
  • MOQ, timelines and claim guidance here are general; every project is quoted on its own formulation, packaging and testing plan.
  • Regulatory points are general guidance for cosmetics in Malaysia, not legal advice — check current NPRA guidelines for a specific product.

Frequently asked questions

Where was Dr Orizi at Cosmobeauté Malaysia 2026?

Dr Orizi (M) Sdn. Bhd. exhibited at Booth 3008 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 29 September to 1 October 2026, with D&O Nutraceutical Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. at Booth 3009.

What is the minimum order quantity for an OEM skincare product?

It depends on the format and the packaging rather than on the size of the brand. A ready formula in stock packaging starts lower than a bespoke formulation with custom moulds, because tooling and component minimums drive the floor. We quote per project — see our services.

How long does it take to launch a cosmetic brand in Malaysia?

Plan for formulation and sampling, stability and safety testing, cosmetic notification with the NPRA, and production. Packaging lead time is often the longest single item, so it should be decided early rather than last.

Can a cosmetic claim to treat acne or eczema in Malaysia?

No. A cosmetic notified with the NPRA may cleanse, moisturise, protect or improve the appearance of skin; treating or curing a condition is a medicinal claim and requires product registration as a medicine.
