A cosmetics factory competes for chemists the same way it competes for customers — by showing up where they are.

Quick Answer
Dr Orizi’s parent group, ORIZI Group, participated as a featured company at QIU Industry Day 2026, held on 8–9 September 2026 at La Place, Quest International University (QIU), Ipoh. The two-day event connects industry with students through exhibition booths, recruitment counters and expert talks. At our booth, the conversations that mattered were about careers: the laboratory, quality, production and brand roles a cosmetics OEM actually hires for — many of them open right now.
Key Takeaways
- ORIZI Group was a featured company at QIU Industry Day 2026, 8–9 September 2026, at the QIU campus in Ipoh.
- Students saw real product formats and asked how a cosmetics OEM plant works — and what jobs exist inside one.
- A cosmetics manufacturer employs far more than chemists: quality, regulatory, production planning and brand development all sit on the same floor.
- For Dr Orizi, campus engagement in Perak is recruitment, not just goodwill — the plant hires from this talent pool.
Scope of this article
This is a record of a public university-industry event that our group took part in, written from the cosmetics-manufacturing perspective. It describes what happened at the event and what campus engagement means for a plant like ours. It does not speak for Quest International University; the university’s own materials are linked below.
What is QIU Industry Day?
QIU Industry Day is the signature industry engagement event of Quest International University, a private university in Ipoh, Perak. According to the official event page, it brings industry leaders, innovators and professionals onto campus to share insights, explore partnerships and connect with the next generation of talent. The 2026 edition ran on 8–9 September at La Place under the theme “Interaction · Immersion · Inspiration”, with featured companies spanning banks, technology firms, hospitals, hotels and manufacturers.

What we brought to the booth
Our standee said it plainly: “Your dream, our mission.” On the table were real product formats manufactured within the group, and behind the table, team members answering the two questions students actually ask: how is this made? and could I work here? With MYFutureJobs, PERKESO’s national employment portal, stationed beside our booth, some of those conversations turned into applications on the spot.

What does a cosmetics OEM actually hire for?
The most useful thing a factory can tell a student is that the industry is wider than its most visible job. A cosmetics OEM plant runs on a spread of roles:
| Role | What they do | Typical background |
|---|---|---|
| R&D formulation chemist | Turns a brand’s concept into a stable, manufacturable formula | Chemistry, cosmetic science, pharmacy |
| QA / QC analyst | Tests raw materials and batches; keeps GMP records honest | Chemistry, biology, food science |
| Production planner / supervisor | Schedules lines, people and materials so orders ship on time | Engineering, operations, business |
| Regulatory affairs | Handles product notification and keeps claims compliant | Science with a legal/documentation lean |
| Brand & business development | Works with brand owners from brief to launch | Marketing, business, communication |
Every one of those roles exists inside our group, and the reasons people stay are set out on why build your career at Dr Orizi.

The Dr Orizi perspective: recruit where the talent already is
Based on our manufacturing experience in Perak, the constraint on growth is rarely equipment — it is finding people who want to build a career in manufacturing and keeping them. Universities in our own state graduate exactly those people every year, and many leave for other states simply because no local employer introduced itself. Standing in a booth for two days is the cheapest correction to that problem we know. It is the same logic behind Become An Orizi, our standing invitation to join the team, and it sits naturally alongside our social responsibility commitments to the community we operate in.
Limitations
- Being a featured company at a university event is participation, not a partnership, accreditation or endorsement by the university.
- Event details (dates, venue, format) are as at 8–9 September 2026, per the university’s official event page.
- Hiring needs change; roles described here are illustrative of a cosmetics OEM generally, and current openings are on our Join Our Team page.
